A report from New Jersey Policy Perspective says Millennials are not leaving the state at high rates relative to previous generations, and levels have been stable since the 1980s. “We also found that New Jersey millennials aren’t leaving the state at any more a frequency than millennials in New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and those around us,” Cliff Zukin, a professor at Rutgers, said. A bill sponsored by Vince Mazzeo would set up a countywide tax assessment program to replace the system we have now, where municipalities do their assessing on their own. It has the support of a committee made up of mayors John Armstrong (Absecon), Jesse Tweedle (P’ville) and Sonny McCullough (EHT) who went around the state last year looking at how different counties did their assessments.

The number of juveniles arrested for marijuana possession in 2016 was the lowest it had been in more than 30 years of record keeping by the FBI. The rate dropped 62% since 2001.
