Growing Up in the Other Atlantic City Author Presentation

Turiya Abdur Raheem, adjunct professor at Atlantic Cape, will present a reading from her book, “Growing Up in the Other Atlantic City” along with excerpts from the HBO Documentary, The Color Barrier, which made it to the 2017 Garden State Film Festival. Q & A will follow. “Growing Up in the Other Atlantic City” first edition publication will be given to the first 50 students.
The event will take place in the theater of the Mays Landing Campus and light refreshments will be served.

During the month of February, relevant Black History films/documentaries will be shown in the Student Center TV lounge such as Selma and Eyes on the Prize. Other film titles will be added.
Giveaways and light refreshments will be offered at each event.
