Overdose Awareness and Remembrance Event

Overdose Awareness Day is an event held on August 31st each year that aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug-related death. It also acknowledges the grief felt by families and friends remembering those who have met with death or permanent injury as a result of drug overdose.

If you have a loved one you would like to be remembered, please send their name to staff@speakersforchange.org or comment with their name on this event page.

The location is on the beach – behind the Ventnor Community Library – Newport Avenue and the Beach **If it rains it will be held inside the Library at 6500 Atlantic Ave in Ventnor NJ.

Atlantic County Alliance and AdaptPharma will be providing two free Narcan trainings at 2pm and 4pm on the second floor of the library that same day. The training and free kit are included.

Please wear white to the event to signify HOPE for others!
