This year’s festival, which is free to the public, will once again feature historical exhibits, live musical entertainment, food, vendors and plenty of fun activities for children and the entire family. The Historic Kentucky Avenue Renaissance Festival 6th Annual special guest will include:
The Stylistics were one of the most well-known Philadelphia Soul groups of the 1970s. Formed in 1968, the comprised lead Russell Thompkins Jr, Herbie Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith and James Dunn. They had their first U.S. hit in 1971 with “You’re a Big Girl Now”. The Stylistics hits where Betcha by Golly Wow / I’m stone in Love with you/you make me feel Brand New / Stop, look, listen to your heart / and you are Everything / You make me feel brand new was the biggest U.S. hit.
With The Stylistics Review we will also have performing, Angela Burton and Passion Band (Performed for our soldiers over seas and at famous Club Harlem), Firestorm Band, Unity Community Centers Royal Brass Band, and UCC Little Jazz Giants, D.J FAHDI, The BossMan John Hall (James Brown stated he was the best James Brown impersonator he had ever seen),The BossMan appeared on numerous shows in Philadelphia Uptown Theater and was chosen as the Opening acts for Club Harlem in Atlantic City NJ. We will have local performers African Dance, Big Band, Classical, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, Reggae Band, Exhibits, Children Activities, Vendors and more.
