The Twin Poets present: “Our Words Matter,” Spoken Word Poetry
February 20, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
The Twin Poets (Al and Nnamdi) are both master level social workers that utilize their art as a tool for community engagement, empowerment and development. The Twin Poets, the 17th Poets Laureate for the State of Delaware, have performed national and internationally. The brothers were the subject of the Hearts & Minds Films documentary, “Why I Write” (2008), which chronicled their efforts to bring sustainable change in their home city of Wilmington, Delaware–one of the most dangerous cities in America. “Our Work, Our Words,” second edition publication, will be given to the first 50 students.
The event will take place in the theater of the Mays Landing Campus and light refreshments will be served.
