We Love the 90’s!
August 10, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
We had so much fun at our last fundraiser at Chickie’s & Pete’s, we decided to do it again! Please join us for a night full of throw-back 90’s music played by DJ Leroy & trivia to support Closet of Hope AC & MudGirl Studios! There will be prizes for winners of the 90’s trivia & raffle items as well!
$5 bracelets will be sold at the door which provides you with 3 hours of Happy Hour drink prices! (Happy Hour is normally from 4-6 otherwise) Children are FREE! 100% of the $5 goes towards Closet of Hope & MudGirl Studios to help with the renovations and supplies needed to get both non-profits settled into their new home! 10% of all food proceeds also gets donated back!
Please invite all friends & family directly to this link & like our Facebook pages! The Closet of Hope is designed to be a professional clothing closet, but it is so much more than that! This will be an entire program designed to help prepare and educate individuals looking to obtain employment by connecting them to classes and resources in the community as well as working with them one on one within the areas that they need assistance. There will be volunteers consistently at Closet of Hope that can assist with building resumes, online applications, job searches, etc. We will be partnering with many other community resources as well to make sure that the client is fully supported. Once a client obtains a job interview we will allow them to go shopping in our closet, which will be set up boutique-style so that they feel special about their accomplishment and not just like they received a hand-me down donation. When a job is obtained we would want to continue to work with the client to set new goals and help with job retention.
Dorrie Papademetriou created MudGirls Studios, a ceramic art studio for homeless and at-risk women to earn supplemental income that creates functional pottery for everyday use. MudGirls Studios celebrates a love of clay, the creative process and the chance for women to transform their own lives. It continues to grow and has officially become a 501c3.
