Atlantic City’s Surf Stadium last night was filled with guests for a pop-up fundraiser for the city’s Boys & Girls Club, organized by a collection of South Jersey wunderkinder that formed a non-profit called 4AC x AC earlier this year. (Disclosure: We were invited to attend as guests of event sponsor Little Water Distillery)
The stadium, which has been little used since 2008 when the Atlantic City Surf played its last game there, could be revived under a proposal submitted to the city last month. Frank Boulton, owner of the Bridgeport Bluefish and the Long Island Ducks, expressed interest in the site.
At the event last night, over craft cocktails paired with multiple courses of food, many guests were talking about the fantastic view of Atlantic City from the stadium. Mayor Don Guardian, speaking at the event, said he has some other hidden AC locations in mind for 4AC x AC’s next pop-up dining experiences. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for future plans.
The seven-course dinner was prepared by Michael Brennan of Ventnor’s Cardinal Bistro. Tropicana, DO AC and Seashore Fruit & Produce Co also sponsored the event.
