Proceeds will go to Closet of Hope AC, a grassroots non-profit hoping to open their doors in November in the historic Ducktown neighborhood.
The Closet of Hope is designed to be a professional clothing closet, but it is so much more than that! This will be an entire program designed to help prepare and educate individuals looking to obtain employment by connecting them to classes and resources as well as working with them one on one. Volunteers at Closet of Hope will assist with building resumes, online applications, job searches, mock interviews, etc. Every client will be expected to create short and long term goals and a volunteer will hold them accountable for taking steps towards these goals. We will be connected with many other community partners, which will enable us to provide clients with further resources to ensure that the client is fully supported. Once a client obtains a job interview, they will be able to go shopping in our closet, which will be set up boutique-style so that they feel special about their accomplishment and not just like they received a hand-me down donation. The goal is to guide the client along the process to the point of them feeling fully confident inside and out! When a job is obtained, we would continue to work with the client to set new goals and help with job retention.
