Ducktown Tavern owner Johnny Ex told us he might run for Atlantic City council.

John Exadaktilos, proprietor of the Ducktown Tavern on Atlantic and Georgia Avenues in Atlantic City, is considering a bid for city council.

Who looks at the Atlantic City council and says, “I want to be part of that party?” we wondered. Johnny Ex had a quick answer.

“It’s not a party. It’s a debacle.”

But not one he’s happy to ignore.

“I had my eggs in one basket. I live, I do business and I employ in Atlantic City.”

“I’ve invested—Atlantic City has done me good. But the bickering between us and Trenton, the protecting of people for votes, has got to stop.”

Exadaktilos said he was considering running for an at-large seat*. He called himself a “Republicrat” by political affiliation. Jokingly.

“You can’t be one or the other in a town like this.”

“I’m logical. That’s what party I am.”

*The terms of At-Large Councilmen Frank Gilliam, Moisse Delgado and George Tibbitt expire at the end of 2017.
